Penyuluh Agama Islam memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam mengatur pemberdayaan ekonomi demi kesejahteraan umat. Agama Islam sejatinya tidak hanya mengajarkan ilmu seputar hubungan antara Allah dan hamba-Nya saja, tetapi juga mengajarkan umatnya untuk berusaha mendapatkan kehidupan yang baik di dunia maupun di akhirat. Untuk memperolehnya, perlu adanya pemberdayaan yang sejalan dengan paradigma Islam sendiri sebagai agama gerakan atau perubahan, terutama dari ketertinggalan dan ketertindasan ekonomi.
Seperti yang kita sadari, perekonomian masyarakat Islam khususnya di Indonesia, masih terlalu jauh jika dibandingkan dengan negara-negara di luar sana. Bahkan, jika disandingkan dengan sesama Indonesia, masyarakat non-muslim pun jauh lebih unggul perekonomiannya dibandingkan orang muslim itu sendiri. Hal ini menjadi tanda tanya besar, mengapa perekonomian masyarakat muslim tidak bisa berjalan dengan baik?
Untuk menjawabnya, tentu dapat ditelusuri pada masyarakat itu sendiri, mulai dari kemauan dan kemampuan masyarakat, sistem ekonomi yang diterapkan oleh pemerintah dan adanya faktor-faktor yang menjadi alasan tertinggalnya perekonomian muslim. Tiga diantaranya yaitu;
Fokus ekonomi yang tidak tepat.
Seringkali negara-negara Islam, khususnya Indonesia, lebih mementingkan pengembangan industri tanpa memperhatikan sektor pertanian dan pedesaan. Padahal, jika dipertimbangkan keduanya dapat berjalan beriringan dan berhasil mengurangi ketimpangan sosial antara masyarakat kota dan desa.
Sistem zakat yang belum maksimal
Implementasi zakat yang tidak sesuai aturan atau tidak tepat sasaran dapat menjadi hambatan untuk kemajuan ekonomi, sehingga tidak mampu memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap kesejahteraan masyarakat miskin
Terhambatnya pengembangan ekonomi Syariah
Minimnya pakar ekonomi Islam, kurangnya dukungan pemerintah, serta terbatasnya ruang pendidikan yang mengajarkan konsep ekonomi Islam secara mendalam juga dapat menghambat sistem perekonomian Islam.
Karenanya, untuk meningkatkan kembali perekonomian umat, diperlukan terobosan-terobosan atau strategi yang efisien. Maka disinilah masyarakat membutuhkan peran penyuluh yang sesungguhnya, yaitu memberikan solusi melalui pembekalan informasi terkait strategi dan kebijakan untuk keluar dari ketertinggalan tersebut. Penyuluh islam dapat mengadakan kampanye atau seminar offline maupun online, atau bahkan dapat berkunjung langsung, bertemu dengan masyarakat untuk menyampaikan suatu informasi terkait pemberdayaan ekonomi serta memberikan pelatihan yang berkelanjutan agar dapat membuahkan hasil yang maksimal. Berikut strategi yang dapat diterapkan oleh masyarakat dalam memajukan perekonomian :
- Membangun sistem ekonomi sendiri. Dengan cara membuat atau mengembangkan usaha kecil-kecilan yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan target pasar dan masyarakat setempat.
- Memanfaatkan dana sosial. Pemerintah harus berkontribusi dalam membantu perekonomian dengan memberikan harta negara kepada orang yang membutuhkan. Lalu, dana tersebut dapat dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sebagai modal usaha. Tetapi jika pemerintah tidak memiliki dana subsidi tersebut, maka bisa diberlakukan kebijakan-kebijakan yang dapat meringankan beban ekonomi masyarakat miskin. Atau cara lainnya yaitu dengan mengoptimalkan zakat, infak, sedekah, dan wakaf sebagai sumber pendanaan untuk program pemberdayaan ekonomi.
- Membangun koneksi atau berkolaborasi dengan Lembaga Islam. Masyarakat dapat membangun kerjasama dengan Lembaga-lembaga Islam, contohnya seperti BAZNAZ, untuk mendapatkan pelatihan tentang kewirausahaan ataupun mendapat bantuan pendanaan.
Melalui strategi-strategi tersebut, perekonomian umat dapat membaik secara perlahan. Tentu saja diiringi dengan sikap gigih dan konsistensi, maka semua permasalahan ekonomi akan teratasi.
Penyuluhan Islam untuk pemberdayaan ekonomi umat merupakan langkah penting dalam menciptakan masyarakat yang mandiri secara finansial dan sejahtera. Dengan memanfaatkan dana sosial Islam sebaik-baiknya serta bekerjasama dengan lembaga Islam, strategi tersebut dapat mengatasi tantangan ekonomi umat. Dengan begitu, penyuluh Islam memainkan perannya dalam menggabungkan dakwah dan pemberdayaan ekonomi sehingga tercipta keseimbangan duniawi dan ukhrawi.
